Underclassmen in Livestock and Dairy Management had a very hands-on morning, practicing different skills. Plymouth County Extension Educator, Meg Riley, visited campus to teach the group about evaluating fleeces, ways to utilize wool, such as fertilizer and nutrients for crops, and the process of preparing a fleece to sell. The students skirted the fleeces from our sheep, which were harvested last week, removing debris and tags.🐏
Other students were also busy practicing their clipping skills on the heifers. These fitting skills will be put to the test in a few months at Fall Show!🐄
