Planting the seeds for the future 🌱
Today, we had the opportunity to bring together local agricultural professionals and community leaders for a visioning session focused on the future of Bristol Aggie as a central hub for agriculture in Southeastern Massachusetts.
Together, we explored exciting possibilities — including a reimagining of Keith Hall as a dynamic space that could serve multiple roles: collaborative office space, a marketplace for local ag products, and a place where innovation and community come together.
This was just the first step, but the energy, ideas, and shared commitment in the room made it clear that something special is growing.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support the vision of the Ag Institute. The future is bright 🌾

Yesterday, the Bristol Aggie Environmental Conservation Department was proud to welcome Peter DeFusco and the National Grid Environmental Licensing & Permitting Team to campus.
During their visit, the team toured our Natural History Museum and labs, where they observed students actively engaged in our ongoing collaborative projects and gained a deeper understanding of our programs. The visit highlighted the strength of our continued partnership between our department, National Grid, and Oxbow Associates, Inc., including our work raising threatened Eastern box turtle hatchlings at a National Grid site in Fall River, MA.
In addition to supporting conservation efforts, Peter has been an incredible resource for our students—participating in school-wide career events and our department’s Conservation Professional Speaker Series. Through these opportunities, he shares insights into his career path, the rewards and challenges of his work, and valuable advice for students interested in pursuing careers in environmental conservation.
We are incredibly grateful to Peter and the entire National Grid team for visiting today and for their continued partnership. These collaborations make it possible for our students to engage in meaningful, real-world conservation work and have a tangible impact early in their careers. We look forward to many more opportunities ahead!

Throughout this school year Flori students have been participating in the state’s Harvest of the Month program. Each month we highlight an in season fruit or vegetable through a cooking and nutrition inspired lesson. February was all about winter squash! After vacation and storm delays, we had the chance to do our Harvest of the Month Lesson this past week. Thanks to the generous donation of butternut squash from Heart Beets Farm, we made Winter Squash Energy Bites. #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence #LocalHarvest

Students in our Environmental Engineering Climate Science course are diving into the power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Using ArcGIS, students are analyzing permeable vs. impermeable surfaces on campus and their impact on runoff and flooding—then bringing their data to life through StoryMaps.

Today, we had the opportunity to attend the Massachusetts Farm and Sea to School Conference. After engaging in workshops and learning from inspiring speakers, our students and staff are energized and ready to bring new ideas back to campus.
Several students from our Floriculture program, alongside Ms. Flory, are helping to lead our Farm to School efforts—work made possible in part through two Massachusetts Farm to School grants. These resources have allowed us to expand hands-on learning by connecting our greenhouses, raised growing beds, and school food service program, while continuing to strengthen a meaningful Farm to School education experience for our students.
We’re also proud of our Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources Youth Council students, who represented Bristol Aggie through their leadership, engagement, and ongoing support of agricultural education.
Experiences like today reinforce the importance of connecting what we grow to what we serve—strengthening the relationship between our campus, our students, and our community. The future is bright for our farm to school connection.

Huge congratulations to freshman Jesse Uhrig for being officially recognized as a Boyscout Eagle! At age 14, he earned the highest and most prestigious rank you can earn with only 6% achieving this, most around the age 17.5. Way to go Jesse! 🏅 #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence

Students in the Environmental Conservation Department (ECD) work together daily on a variety of wildlife projects. These projects require students to observe and monitor each individual to ensure they are accounted for, healthy, growing properly, and receiving the correct diet and supplement amounts.
Students will soon release some of these animals back into the wild later this spring, while others are part of the Natural History Museum collection on campus, helping students and visitors learn more about local wildlife and conservation efforts.

🐄📊 Real-World Learning at Bristol Aggie
Our Veterinary Science students are using SmaXtec herd monitoring technology to analyze real-time cow health data before heading to the barn. By combining data with hands-on observation, students recently identified a cow coming into heat and confirmed it in the barn—connecting classroom learning directly to real farm management.
Students also saw how the system can flag health concerns days before visible symptoms appear, giving farmers and veterinarians a powerful early-warning tool.
When students compared healthy vs. unhealthy data trends, the reaction said it all: “Whoa!” — a powerful moment showing how technology is shaping the future of animal health and agriculture.
👏 Thank you to Ms. Bosworth, Ms. Clements, Farm Manager Joey Guimond, and our farm team for bringing cutting-edge agricultural technology into the classroom and the barn. #BAPride #CultivatingExcellence

In February, Bristol Aggie proudly hosted the SEMAP Conference, welcoming nearly 300 attendees from across the region.
This week at assembly, we recognized the students who presented at the conference and represented our school so well. In appreciation of their hard work, professionalism, and willingness to share their knowledge, each student presenter was awarded a $150 check for their services.
We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping into leadership roles and showcasing the talent, knowledge, and confidence that define the Bristol Aggie community. 👏

Our Livestock and Dairy Management teachers returned from a trip to the Northeast Dairy Innovation Summit Wednesday night! They had the opportunity to network and meet people from all walks of life and different backgrounds, making connections that they'd love to carry over to the school in some form. Through this experience they learned a lot about different industry trends and possible career opportunities for our students.
Words from our staff: "I wanted to thank Bristol Aggie for the opportunity to attend the conference. I’m so glad we were able to meet some of the individuals involved with such a fantastic organization and who provided our school with the funding to innovate. I am so grateful to be a part of a school that wishes to provide staff with opportunities to further our own education, keeping us inspired and helping us make connections with others in our industries. I’m feeling excited and motivated to bring this new knowledge back to my classroom!"
