🌮🌱 Taco Tuesday, the Aggie Way! 🌱🌮
Farm to School Lunch at Bristol Aggie
On Tuesday, June 3rd, Bristol Aggie proudly hosted a Farm to School Lunch to showcase our deep commitment to integrating student-grown and raised food into our meal program. Guests enjoyed flavorful beef tacos made with Bristol Aggie-raised meat and a fresh harvest salad featuring student-grown lettuce, radishes, and carrots. Also produce was locally sourced through our partnership with Coastal Foodshed.
This event highlighted our collaboration with Massachusetts Farm to School, supported by the MA FRESH CORP grant through the MA Legislature and DESE Office for Food and Nutrition Programs. Over lunch and during a tour of our greenhouses and our proposed project for our new three Tier grow beds, we shared how this work is advancing food literacy and sustainable agriculture across our programs.
Thank you to Senator Dooner, Representative Thurber, and Maureen Estes Flanagan, District Aide on behalf of Senator Rodrigues, for joining us and championing this vital initiative.
A huge shout-out to our Floriculture faculty—Mrs. Fornari, Mrs. Chevalier, and Ms. Hussey—and their incredible students for harvesting the fresh produce. Special thanks to Farm Manager Mr. Guimond for the delicious beef, and to Food Service Director Mr. Lee and the entire Food Service team for preparing such an outstanding meal. This was truly farm to fork—Aggie style!
