Our Juniors also gave one of our calves a vaccine before they disbud her! The vaccine is a precaution we take here at Aggie to prevent infection. ECD preparations from last week! Upperclassmen were working together on a new exhibit that showcases the stages and methods involved in creating our next diorama, soon to be displayed in our Natural History Museum.
NRM students continued their captive animal management work in the Head-start Lab, which currently houses over 200 rare and endangered hatchling turtles. Students are responsible for animal husbandry, preparing specialized diets, and maintaining strict biosecurity measures to reduce disease risks and ensure the safety of both animals and humans.
EE students continued their animal management work with the museum’s aquariums—home to over 3,500 gallons and more than 40 species. Under the guidance of Ms. DeMelo, EE Instructor, students assisted with annual maintenance as she scuba dived in both 700-gallon marine tanks to clean algae, move sand, and perform weight checks on the lumpfish, little skate, and chained cat shark.

Workplace Wednesday!
This week's Workplace Wednesday highlight is Joseph Melberg! Joey is a senior co-op student who works as a groundskeeper right here at Bristol Aggie! He is responsible for greasing machinery, as well as weedwacking and mowing our entire campus. His favorite part of being a student worker is lawn mowing and preserving the beauty of our campus! Through this position, Joey is gaining valuable hands-on experience, which will aid him in his future career. His plan after high school is to earn his hydraulics license and he hopes to become a lawn care specialist. We are so grateful for our student workers who assist us in maintaining our campus!
