On March 14 the Dairy Judging and Dairy Showmanship teams participated in their State competition. Bristol Aggie at the State House! On Friday, students Lauren Decoste and Mason Tavares, along with Student Government Advisor Ms. Diana Hopkins, represented BA at Student Government Day at the Massachusetts State House! They stepped into the shoes of legislators—participating in a mock formal session of the House and Senate, debating Senate Bill 335 (https://malegislature.gov/Bills/194/S335.pdf) on responsible tech use in schools, and even casting formal votes. 🗳️📜 This hands-on experience gave them an inside look at how our government works and the power of student voice in shaping the future. 🙌 Way to go, Lauren and Mason! Two ECD juniors, Nora Platt and Tori Welzel, presented their research at the 2025 Northeast Natural History Conference. College students, professors, and professionals working in the field presented 122 research posters. Two were presented by high school students, and those 2 students were Nora and Tori! We’d like to give a special thank you to Dan Kinsella who owns Fuego, a horse we lease. He gave our upperclassmen in equine science a demonstration of polo! He went over the tack and rules necessary to play polo. The students even had an opportunity to try hitting the polo balls on Fuego! Dans polo team is called KangaManga, which is primarily out of Newport Polo. Fun Fact, Dans team plays for the U.S.A internationally! Last weekend, Lindel Tucker competed at IEA Zone 1 Finals at The Big E, and she qualified for IEA Nationals in St. Louis at the National Equestrian Center. She also won the written horsemanship exam out of 138 contestants. Incoming freshman, Allie Edwards placed 3rd!
IEA is an organization where grades 4-12 compete on a team and individually with a draw-based competition format with horses provided by different schools and farms. First, they competed in the region, which is in the South Coast of MA and RI, and then the regional final can qualify you for the Zone 1 final and to nationals. It is all a point based system. Lindel finished her pre-season (up to regionals), undefeated fences, and flat with 70 points! #CultivatingExcellence #BAPride

Workplace Wednesday!
This week's Workplace Wednesday highlight is Hunter Lafountain! Hunter is a Junior co-op student who works at Beaver Express LLC in Berkley as a Mechanical and Field Laboror. He completes tasks such as fixing broken automobiles, raking, shoveling, shooting a grade, and more. His favorite part of his job is his Co-workers. This job opportunity benefits Hunter because it expands his knowledge in his desired field of work, teaching him the skills necessary to take over the family business one day! Thank you Beaver Express LLC for providing our students this amazing co-op experience to further their knowledge!

For several years the Bristol Aggie Natural Resources Management (NRM) program has been working with @turtlesurvival to produce Chinese Box Turtles, Cuora flavomarginata. This species is listed as "Endangered" on the IUCN Red List due to habitat destruction and poaching for consumption and the pet trade. Last year we finally produced our first hatchling and we currently we have several eggs incubating. Offspring produced on our campus will become part of the Turtle Survival Alliance's conservation plan for this species.

The Class of 2026 has launched a sweatshirt fundraiser that is open NOW through April 4, 2025. Sweatshirts are Gildan 50/50 Midweight Hoodies that are available in sizes YS through Adult 5XL.
